Elfen is interesting, no doubt. If you dont mind lovely lolis being chopped to bits. The poor puppy got kicked too <8( ON a side note, I think the main heroine is fine when she doesnt enter kukuku-yandere-mode.

Elfen Lied is one of the most brutal stories with a twist that I've ever seen and read.
If you don't mind excessive violence, like BRUTAL violence, then you should be ok.
Might I recommend reading it over watching it if you rather do just one of the 2.
It is a much more amazing story in book form.
