| Random Crap:
I'm sure we already have a topic with like this exact title somewhere ha. Laziness.
So I finally authorized my Itunes for this laptop and I didn't know I could do this before -- I swear it's new, but I downloaded all my old purchased music from like forever ago. Listening to Hot in herre haha Nelly - super old.
Not as old as my roommate listening to backstreet boys but yeah.
yeah - yeah, people just download their music. Like literally download without the money sign.

| Simplest way to download music for free:
1) Go to google.com 2) Type in: mp3 mediafire [name of song] [author of song] 3) Download
If its not on mediafire or if the filesize is wrong or if you're looking for a particular type, you're going to have to do more work. But, most common/popular songs can be found that way. | |

| Is anyone doing anything fun over break? I'm planning on cleaning my room, knitting some scarves, and finishing all my grad school applications! yay. anyway there are so many great things about this photo, and that's not sarcastic at all, the more you look the more you notice all the small eyeballs and junk and her hand claw things ah man I had to read some Edo Period literature because that was what my teacher did his like PHD on, so he translated a bunch of work by this guy Saikaku Seriously I read "Heartstrings plucked on Lake Biwa" or something close to that, I didn't bring it home otherwise I'd write out some parts of it, because it's just so ridiculous. Anyway picture: | |

| Ha, you should follow up that exclamation with some stories or something. I think I like that most of all. Just coming to the forums and reading some random whatever stories or whatever lines people write up here. Anyway today in Japanese 102 for whatever reason ... oh we were talking about the pure land (Buddhism) since we're studying medieval period literature anyway ... in case anyone is into the grotestque stuff apparently Genshin one of the more popular Buddhist monks from like 942-1017, well because there were so many natural disasters here's a list if anyone is actually interested (and for historical purposes the Heian era ends 1185 and the warring eras follow) 1177 was a major fire 1180 a huge cyclone caused major crop damage 1181-1182 there was a huge drought and famine 1185 war spread from countryside to the capital So people largely believed it was the time of Mappo which is like the last stage of Buddhism, sorry if people are Buddhist and this is poor explanation. Anyway I forgot why I was giving all this background. OH yeah, Genshin. Anyway in the time of Mappo it's like you can no longer really do stuff to bring yourself to enlightenment now you have to be saved by grace so instead of Jiriki (self power) which is like doing good on your own, like being good in general, copying sutras, donating to buddhist temples, it was more in the direction of Tariki which is "other power" so it's more helplessness and less in your control. Anyway that's a pretty crappy explanation but Genshin was like ... he separated himself from the institutionalized buddhism and wrote this book called in translation Essentials of Salvation, it was one of the most disseminated text throughout the medieval period. Anyway I guess that book isn't really optimistic it's more like telling people what hells await them if they do bad things. People were mostly interested in the descriptions of the hells. For instance if you kill animals you go to a hell where your hands turn into iron claws and all the sinners scrape away at each others' flesh until it's just bones and then you're reborn again. Or there's this other picture where these demons are ripping the flesh off of people's backs or there's the popular "human sushi bar" where demons cut you up into bite sized pieces, and the worst part people say about the hells is that the demons then yell katsu katsu! revive revive! and then you revive and go through it all again. Anyway the whole purpose of all that background was to upload a few grotesque photos. OH yeah so the scroll pictures on is a human hamburger machines. Anway the weirdest thing is the demons are sort of portrayed as sympathetic characters who are only doing as ordered >.> that didn't seem too sympathetic to me but whatever. anyway if you've come this far I read Girls' Generation was performing on David Letterman on January 31st. I don't have TV so I won't see it until someone puts it on youtube. | |
